Universities in Hong Kong welcome students for short-term studies. They can enroll in academic programmes for one year, one semester or during summer.

Students can study as exchange students if their home institutions have a bilateral student exchange agreement with individual universities in Hong Kong. When students come on an exchange basis, they are usually required to pay their home institution tuition fee and do not need to pay for the tuition in the local host institution. Alternatively, students can study at local universities as fee-paying study abroad students.
