Shopping
Legend tells us that in ancient times, our ancestors survived the harsh realities of the world through hunting and gathering nuts and berries. That instinct remains deeply ingrained in our psyche today- our shopping instinct! Hong Kong is the perfect place to bring out that gatherer in you, with a retail selection that would overwhelm Imelda Marcos. Roam the flagship stores of Christian (Dior), Louis (Vuitton) and Giorgio (Armani) in Central. Snag yourself a bargain in Mong Kok's famous street markets, or enter shopping paradise in Tsim Sha Tsui and Causeway Bay, both of which are revered homes to hundreds of local and internatinoal retailers. Thereafter, pick up a tailored suit - no need to find the tailors; they'll find you, often in Tsim Sha Tsui - and marvel through the exquisite souvenirs at Stanley Market. Still going strong? Hit one of the shopping malls for designer labels or one-of-a-kind jewelry for your loved ones. You're just spoilt for choice in shopaholic Hong Kong!

Nightlife
Experience Hong Kong's unparalleled vibrant night scene - dance 'till dawn in the clubs of Wan Chai, Lan Kwai Fong, and Tsim Sha Tsui, where some of the world's top DJs come to spin their beats. For a mellower vibe, head to Soho's sophisticated bars, or grab a group of friends and book a private room in one of Causeway Bay's ultra-cool celebrity lounges.

Sports
Whether you're a gung-ho fitness fanatic or a sedate spectator, you will be impressed by Hong Kong's sports and outdoor scenes. Hoof through hundreds of kilometers of hiking trails in our pristine country parks, hop right into a pickup basketball game in park, or get a surprisingly spry elderly local to teach you the ancient art of tai chi! Join in the light-hearted lunacy of the Rugby Sevens, where thousands of pleasantly rabid, painted, half-dressed fans converge for a week of sportsmanship that resembles Woodstock more than Wimbledon. For the tennis fans, check out the likes of Maria Sharapova, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal at the annual Watson's Water Champions Challenge.

Culture
Contrary to popular thought, Hong Kong's culture and arts scenes are vibrant and thriving. Besides History, Science, Space, Arts and Heritage Museums, don't miss the creative and thought-provoking works of our local artists at the Fringe Club and Academy for Preforming Arts. Music lovers can enjoy the diverse range of repertoire presented by Hong Kong's numerous orchestras, theatre companies, or experience the pulsating performances of our home-grown Canto-pop artistes, Asian acts, and international superstars. For a truly cultural experience, you can even catch a traditional Cantonese opera.

Heritage
Hong Kong's awe-inspiring heritage sights are worth many visits. The Tian Tan Buddha Statue, fondly known as the Big Buddha, radiates serenity over the peaks of Lantau Island. Neighboring Po Lin monastery offers enlightenment to visitors who pass by the secular commerciality of Ngong Ping village. Elsewhere, delve into the past on walking tours of ancient Hakka villages in the New Territories, or explore our religious heritage at the famous Wong Tai Sin Temple or Chi Lin Nunnery. Thereafter, experience our unique East-West culture at preserved forts and colonial buildings which offer an insight into Hong Kong's colonial past. Who knows - you might just find a piece of history waiting to be discovered as you explore the territory's old streets and alleyways!
